<p>Today&#8217;s Body Language of Energy blog;&#8217; highlights the 5 minute daily Energy Routine, designed by Energy Medicine pioneer Donna Eden; who shares the principles of this knowledge already  for many many  years.</p>
<p>We&#8217;ll see two people demonstrating the daily routine; Donna Eden herself and Prune Harris.  Observe, Compare, use them alternately; whatever way feels best for you.<br />
Even when you know the routine through and through; it&#8217;s nice to do it under guidance and go with the flow.</p>
<blockquote><p>When you are more comfortable with your body; your body is more comfortable to contribute something for a better world.</p></blockquote>
<p><strong>What the Donna Eden 5 minute daily energy routine will do for you:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Give the energy systems of your body a head start.<br />
</strong>By tapping certain acupressure points on the body, the energies are given a &#8216;kick-start&#8217;  (1 minute)</li>
<li><strong>Ensures the energies are crossed over. </strong><br />
Similar to the left hemisphere of the brain guarding the right half of the body and the right hemisphere of the brain guarding the left half of the body; the energies used in daily life are crossed over as well.<br />
At times however the overwhelming amount of information and impressions we receive on a daily basis, can be stalled out of self protection. This means the energies turn homo lateral (run in the same direction) and in a proverbial sense raise the white flag.<br />

<h3>Step 1: Do the Reality Check.</h3>
<p><a href="https://www.energycounseling.nl/en/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/en-58.png?x42940"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-1925" src="https://www.energycounseling.nl/en/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/en-58-175x300.png?x42940" alt="I. The Magician" width="175" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>It might be an inconvenient truth, but keep in mind a majority of actions taken in the outside world are aimed at making us believe a certain something;<br />
ranging from commercials promising success in love and life as long as  the right deodorant, shampoo or even washing detergent is being used,<br />
to people who tell things they <em>want </em>others to believe, while in reality the telltales are far removed from what is really going on.</p>
<p>Remember modern day society is thriving on <strong>commerce</strong>.<br />
People constantly want to <em>sell</em> you something<em>;</em> ideas, products, illusions, hot air.</p>
<p>In that sense humanity is still a child that needs to grow up and learn how to speak the truth; to give real help and <em>really</em> care about the welfare of others,  which brings me to <strong>Step 2: Let The Heart Speak</strong></p>

<h3>Step 2. Let The Heart Speak</h3>
<p style="text-align: left">We live in era of evolution where humanity is constantly testing its ability to <em>think.<a href="https://www.energycounseling.nl/en/nan-yar/card65/"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1932 alignright" src="https://www.energycounseling.nl/en/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/en-65-175x300.png?x42940" alt="VIII. Justice" width="175" height="300" /></a><br />
</em>Quoting Descartes,:<em> &#8216;I think, therefore I am&#8217;</em>,  emphasizes how highly we value this human ability.</p>
<p style="text-align: left">At the same time the one big observation often made, is how people in the western world &#8216;live too much in their heads&#8221;.</p>
<p style="text-align: left">Perhaps the two are related and it is this constant test driving of our ability to think  that wears us out and puts our intuitive skills on the back burner of life.</p>
<p>So my motto is: think less, feel more, bring the concept of thinking, feeling and willing (wanting) into a more balanced perspective. &#8216;Risk&#8217; listening to the heart over obeying the brain;<br />
for as we&#8217;ve seen in <strong>Step 1</strong>, the information the brain is processing, is not always as truthful as we would want it to be, while the heart simply cannot lie. It cannot think, it can only feel. Unless we are &#8216;heartless'; the truth always lives within and while we can be &#8216;brainwashed&#8217;, to be  &#8216;heart-washed&#8217; only indicates a cleansing.</p>
<h3></h3>
<h3>Step 3: Befriend The Dragon</h3>

<p><em>&#8216;Denial is not just a river in Egypt</em> &#8216; someone once said on<br />
how most of us would love to believe there are no dragons in this world.</p>
<p>We live life while trying to ignore the bad things as much as possible, both in the world around us as well as within ourselves.</p>
<p>Again it&#8217;s a bit of a nut to crack, yet the beauty of it is,<br />
that recognizing the dark side of life,<br />
of all our lives,<br />
in the outside world and within,<br />
puts reality into perspective and allows the gut feeling to emerge from the depth of true knowing.</p>

<p><strong>Conclusion:</strong> In general the 3 steps invite you to discard shallow food for thought and temptation and involve the heart,live life with a conscience, something the subconscious knows everything about.</p>

daily life can distract us from what really matters to such an extend that we forget to take good care of ourselves.</p>
<p>Breaking news flashes, famous people dying, terrorist attacks, presidential elections fought over in the media;  commercials attracting us into thinking we need certain products in order to be happy, it simply doesn&#8217;t stop!<br />
Thousands of impulses a day attack us from television sets, computers,  cellphones, billboards, shop windows and friends who go through exactly the same experience and share that again!</p>
<p>It can make you weary; by the end of the day feeling you&#8217;ve done all sorts of things, yet very little of it had to do with you.<br />
Eventually, when you have many of these days in row, body, mind and spirit start to protest. They start to feel drained, perhaps even to a point where certain ailments start to surface, physical aches, colds, lack of resistance, mental issues, feeling wobbly, mental tiredness.<br />
As a result; the next day like this, will take up even more energy to perform.</p>
<p>One option to escape this vicious circle  is to take a break, go on a holiday.<br />
Unfortunately this is only a short term solution, for after the holiday it&#8217;s back to normal and the same cycles start all over again</p>
<p>Holidays are also infamous for fatigue that finally gets a chance to surface once daily pressure falls away, igniting anything ranging from mild irritability to illness and escape into excess drinking or eating.<br />
Or holidays can be overshadowed by an inability to actually enjoY being away from it all, as too little energy  is left to do that.</p>
<p>So&#8230;.what we can we do to break this cycle?</p>
<p>When ever I catch myself reading my mails or watching the news straight after waking up;<br />
or spending too many hours behind my computer;<br />
or using my time off to meet dead lines rather than relax;<br />
then I know its time to think of our ancestors, the hunter and gatherers, who had to live without holidays, who couldn&#8217;t break the vicious cycle by going away for a few days and had to regenerate on a daily basis in order to stay tuned.</p>
<p>Suppose they would have jumped out of their animal hide beds first thing in the morning;<br />
pick up their spears and start hunting and gathering for 8 hours or more, 5 days a week or more;<br />
how long do think they would have survived?<br />
And they didn&#8217;t even have commercials, presidential candidate debates, terrorist attacks or breaking news from all over the world thrown at them many many times a day.</p>
<p>So what did these people do differently from modern day men and women?<br />
The answer is: they took their time and created their own space.<br />
They took care of themselves while life was happening; nourished their needs on a daily basis, wove relaxation into every day activities; integrated well being into their daily life occupation no matter where they were went or what they did.</p>
<p>In my next blog I&#8217;ll reveal <em>what</em> our hunter and gatherer ancestors did to keep fit during daily life, using their own body language and their own healing powers.</p>

I was not one for buying expensive creams or beauty products, and <em>if </em>I would buy any, I would buy animal test free products.<br />
The thought of cuddly rabbits hurting for my sake while having mascara smeared in their eyes or testing creams on their raw shaven skins, is far too unsavory to my taste.</p>
<p>To me, having to use &#8216;repair wear&#8217;, which is basically what all these potions are, is like having to use aspirin.<br />
While it may take away the symptoms, I feel it&#8217;s better to treat the cause, using naturally available sources of energy  to make myself feel good and look good.<br />
Thus, I found my way around in alternative ways to pamper myself and can now truthfully say my Home Made Awareness Budget Spa is based on years of experience.</p>
<p>Its based on a few simple rules:</p>
<p><strong>- Self Care Time</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Energy exercises, like <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Di5Ua44iuXc&amp;inf_contact_key=97a814f05cbe15417bb69d76dc9cb9c0&amp;inf_contact_key=76f521eb8b4365f9d3638ddef1c3d4f646c6acaf3f43aa91efc929adc675b74f">Donna Eden&#8217;s daily routine</a> to kick-start the energy flow are an important daily ritual to help open up to the naturally present supply of energy that lives within each and every living being. Integrated into daily life, they are simple and short, while making sure you can go with the flow and make maximum use of the day,</li>
<li>Equally important is to create your own space. Feeling comfortable with <em>where</em> you are, is a number one prerogative, to feeling good.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>- Hydration Care</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>First thing in the morning I set the energies in motion by drinking  one to three 200cc glasses of water  optional with the juice of  half a lemon.</li>
<li>Throughout the day I always make sure to have a jug of (&#8216;lemonized&#8217;) water in my vicinity, so I remember to drink.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>-  Facial Care.</strong></p>
<p>I use what is naturally present in my kitchen, ranging from honey and avocado&#8217;s to eggwhites and all sorts of fruits of which the juices and blended products make excellent facial masks.</p>
<p>But to be honest&#8230;. I think the secret to the effect of a facial mask, is most of all that you are forced to lie down for 20 minutes, rather than whatever it is you paste on yourself.<br />
It might well be something we all do far too little of, simply granting ourselves the time to do nothing for about half an hour a day and actually enjoy it!</p>
<p>This brings me to:</p>
<p><strong>- Mental Care</strong></p>
<p>In our quest for daily life we give ourselves very little time to process the impressions that pass by us;<br />
and instead spend most of our energies focusing the logistics; (the &#8216;<em>life is what happens while you&#8217;re making plans</em>&#8216; paradox)</p>
<p>The side effect of doing a lot of logistic thinking however, is that when we <em>do </em>get time to think about who we are or what we really want out of life all sorts of forgotten yearnings invade the brain like star wars storm troopers; ranging from forgotten things you used to like to issues you&#8217;d normally rather not think about.<br />
<em><strong>Relaxation Anxiety</strong> </em>I call it, The fear of having time to yourself and think things over.</p>
<p>Taking some time out of the logistics, and by that I do not mean going on a holiday, but simply implementing it into the daily routine, are great moment to clear oneself of compulsive, conditioned or negative thinking,<br />
allowing the issues that cause us to think the way we do, to be processed.</p>
<p>A simple way to support this process is to place your thumbs on your temples and fingers underneath the hairline, that way activating the frontal lobe, therewith releasing whatever issue it is that come to mind.</p>
<p>This brings me to energy counseling motto</p>
<p><strong>- The Trick is to EnjoY It</strong></p>
<p>Like everybody else I get unkind moments out of life. To kick the stone however only hurts my feet.<br />
I&#8217;ve learned to trust the energies that created me and learned to be grateful for being able to bend them my way, and no matter what, being given the chance to experience life in my own way and make my world a better place.</p>

&#8216;Wow you look tired&#8217; she said reflecting genuine concern, &#8220;Is everything okay with you?&#8217;<br />
Upto that point I had felt fine. My day had gone smooth; the spring sunshine was giving me wings, I had been humming while shopping and nothing had been too much&#8230;.until someone came along and told me I looked tired. </p>
<p>Instantly I felt depleted, my energies went south and the shopping bags I was holding doubled their weight. I hauled myself and my groceries into my car and drove home moping<br />
Stupid woman! What gave her the right to say that! It might have been with good intention but still!&#8230; you don&#8217;t <em>do </em>things like that; especially when you&#8217;ve not seen each other in a while. It&#8217;s like saying, &#8216;Wow, you&#8217;ve grown old!; implying you&#8217;ve aged while they haven&#8217;t.</p>
<p>After being grumpy a bit more while cooking dinner, it started to dawn on me, I could well be angry with my old time friend because she had pointed out an inconvenient truth. Why else would it influence me the way it did? If it had been but an ignorant remark, I could have questioned her judgment and smiled about it. Now, I was angry because, deep down inside I knew she was right and didn&#8217;t want to hear it!</p>
<p>Like many caretakers, I often make the mistake of directing more energy towards the expectations of the outside world than my own needs.<br />
While I make sure the flowers are blooming in the gardens of others, by giving them water in time and making sure they are in a comfortable space, I tend to forget to weed my own space.<br />
It&#8217;s a slow and sneaky process that almost goes unnoticed. An illusionary trick of the outside world to make us forget and tend to ourselves, dating back to old times when humanity was still geared to live in groups and tend to each other. </p>
<p>In this day and age however, evolution is steering us towards individual survival, tending to ourselves first so we are in good shape to <em>then</em> contribute to the greater good.<br />
I call it The Law of the Oxygen Masks, similar to what they tell you aboard an airplane:</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8230; in case of emergency when the oxygen masks drop down, place it over your own nose and mouth first before helping others.</p></blockquote>
<p>It may sound a bit cruel, especially if its your loved one sitting next to you in need of help, yet at the same time it&#8217;s  very necessary to make that switch and learn to take care of yourself first.<br />
It&#8217;s what you&#8217;re here for, to make your own garden bloom, so others can enjoy your beauty as well.</p>
